Project Summery
GCS-SIGAL|Grunley Joint Venture was tasked with the development of a new Parking structure located at the Corner of Cypress Street, SE and a temporary extension of 13th Street, SE Washington, D.C. The garage will serve as temporary parking for the Entertainment and Sports Arena (ESA), with future uses to include parking for residential developments planned for the immediate vicinity. It will also replace the Dorothea Dix surface temporary parking lot that will be demolished for the new St. Elizabeth’s Hospital site.
Within the multi-level parking structure, the garage will include 800 parking spaces, approximately 120 spaces will be dedicated as EV charging stations. Additionally, the Project will include a four-hour emergency power generator for life safety systems, integrated parking management, revenue control facilities, solar powered revenue collection systems (self-pay debit/credit card kiosk), ADA Unisex Public Restrooms and Elevators to ensure accessibility along with enclosed stairs. The project is set for completion in August of 2022.
