The John Lewis (fka West) Elementary School Modernization involved the demolishing and construction of a new 94,000 SF school that included classrooms with retractable doors, a treehouse-themed library inspired by Rock Creek Park, new playgrounds, and an outdoor amphitheater. This project was performed for the DC Department of General Services (DGS) and DC Public Schools (DCPS) and is located in Ward 4 of the District of Columbia (DC).
The Atmos team was contracted by Gilbane Building Company/Saxon Collaborative JV to provide compliance management services, ensuring adherence to local and federal regulatory requirements of the DC Department of Small and Local Business Development (DSLBD), the DC Department of Employment Services’ (DOES) First Source Compliance and Apprenticeship Information and Training (OAIT), and the Department of Labor (DOL).
Throughout the management of this project, Atmos took great care to maintain open and transparent communication with all subcontractors, ensuring that any compliance-related issues or concerns were promptly identified and addressed.
